At Bella Leaf Studio, we want the art you choose to arrive looking as considered as it did when it left us. Getting there has meant listening closely, learning from experience and being willing to change things when they could be better.
When good-looking frames weren’t travelling well
Our earlier frames looked great and the quality felt right, but customer feedback showed us that they weren’t standing up to the journey as well as they needed to. That mattered. A frame can be beautiful, but if it doesn’t travel reliably, it isn’t doing its job for you.
So we changed our frames. It was a practical decision shaped by what customers told us, and a reminder that the experience doesn’t end when a print looks lovely on a screen or in the studio. It has to make the journey, too.
Packaging is part of the experience
The way an order is packed matters as well. Experience has taught us to think about the whole journey, not just how a print or frame looks before it leaves us. We keep learning from what works, what customers tell us and what each order teaches us, and we see packaging as part of caring for the artwork, not an afterthought.
Why we brought our prints in-house
In the early days, we offered much larger print formats through a print partner. The bigger sizes gave customers more choice, but I wasn’t happy with the quality we were receiving. Rather than keep offering something that didn’t meet the standard I wanted for Bella Leaf Studio, I brought our printing in-house.
That meant making a change to how we worked, with more of the process under our own roof. For me, it was the right trade-off: I’d rather offer work I feel proud to send out than keep a larger option that doesn’t feel right.
Feedback helps us make better choices
Negative feedback can sting, especially when you’ve put care into what you make. But it can also point to the gap between what we intend to offer and what a customer actually experiences. That’s where we can learn and improve.
Since launching our website, we’ve been lucky to receive outstanding reviews, and it gives me a real buzz to read them. As a small business owner balancing full-time employment with Bella Leaf Studio, everything is personal. The time, care and decisions behind the studio all matter to me, so your kind words mean a great deal.
Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to tell us what worked and what didn’t. Your feedback has helped shape our framing choices and the way we think about quality, from the print itself to the journey to your door.
We’re still a small, hands-on studio, and we’ll keep paying attention. If something about your order doesn’t feel right, please let us know. We want to hear it.
